Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream
Regional Adaptation More

There were several challenges to overcome in adapting the refreshed Ben & Jerry's design for the Canadian market. Popular flavor names like Cherry Garcia translated well in both English and French, while others needed to be defined for the Quebec market. Additional space was required on the packaging for bilingual ingredients and a larger nutritional chart.
To meet these challenges, Davis created a consistent communication hierarchy for the entire family line. Removing the back of pack sales copy allowed for the creation of unique English and French panels. Ingredient lists and the nutritional chart separated the two main panels. The lid design was adapted for either unilingual or bilingual variant names.
