Our challenge was to create the visual branding to support the launch of a new energy drink including name generation and images.

While other energy drinks use extreme game-type events and lifestyle to market their brands, Davis recommended using the X Games brand equities directly. Consumer research through Davis’s Spontaneous Response Monitor was instrumental in defining the target user, positioning, brand name and visual identity.

As a result, X Games Energy stands out with quiet confidence in a category that is saturated with “in your face” brands. The red and silver split pack design provides powerful shelf blocking while distinct iconic silhouettes express different X Games sports on alternating cans.
